About the Role

We are seeking a high-calibre Interim Group Financial Accountant to join a Group Finance team at a pivotal moment. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will be a key figure in the Group's financial reporting and consolidation process. You'll work closely with a fellow Group Financial Accountant to deliver robust, timely, and accurate reporting across all group entities during this transformational period. Although interim, this position is replacing a permanent team member and will run for at least 12 months, with the potential to extend up to 24 months as the Group executes its divestment and refocus strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the multi-currency consolidation of group accounts - monthly, half-year, full-year, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Prepare the financial sections of annual/interim reports and ensure tax disclosures are complete and compliant.
  • Work directly with external auditors, ensuring seamless audit processes.
  • Maintain compliance with IFRS, manage updates to Group accounting policies, and provide technical accounting support.
  • Take charge of disposal accounting for businesses exiting the Group.
  • Own and manage the Group's Cognos reporting system, including updates and documentation.
  • Perform Group-level accounting for goodwill impairments, IFRS16 leases, share-based payments, and expected credit loss modelling.

Qualifications required:

ACA qualified Accountant

Required Skills:

  • Proven expertise in technical accounting
  • Solid experience in multi-currency group consolidations.
  • Experience with IFRS and tax accounting preferred.
  • Familiarity with consolidation systems
  • A proactive, hands-on mindset and a collaborative team spirit

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with disposals would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with Cognos desirable but not essential
