Reporting to the Finance Manager, the key responsibilities of the role will include;
*Monitor capital expenditure and capital grant budgets, liaising on a monthly basis with the Development Team to review project progress and anticipated out turn, challenging assumptions where appropriate.
*Coordinate the budgeting, forecasting and medium-term planning activities of the capital programme, including income and expenditure elements, as well as maintaining the fixed assets register.
*Provide support and guidance on the organisation's Capital procedures to colleagues, ensuring capital is spent in accordance with these.
*Provide timely and accurate monthly cash flow schedules for actual and forecast capital expenditure and capital grants for treasury purposes.
*Provide quarterly forecasts for depreciation and prepare capital expenditure statements for inclusion in the financial forecasts and statements.
*Prepare financial reports on capital expenditure and associated capital grants with commentary for senior management and Committees.
*Work closely with grant providers and the Research Team to ensure that capital grants are received in a timely manner.
*Produce financial models and appraisals capital projects.
*Provide support and training for the financial modules of the organisation's project management software.
The successful candidate will need to be at least CCAB/CIMA part qualified with a great understanding of FRS102 and project appraisal techniques. You will need to be an excellent communicator with previous experience in major capital projects and dealing with capital project managers.
