The position will support the planning of the internal audit programme by providing review and analysis of evidence sources and contributing to the client’s risk-based approach.
The role will coordinate and undertake internal audits in line with our internal audit procedure, including writing audit briefs, scheduling audit activities, conducting opening meetings, audit activities and closing meetings.
Write up internal audit reports for senior management consumption, clearly communicating non-conformances and potential opportunities for improvement, in line with agreed timescales.
Follow-up on existing non-conformances identified and updating records accordingly.
Provide input, as appropriate, to the Head of Quality on our internal audit approach, templates.
Identify, in consultation with the Head of Quality, further internal audit areas that may be required to strengthen assurance.
Determining where non-conformances and areas for opportunities exist as a result of audit activity.
Determining appropriate timescales for the follow-up of low level quality non-conformances.
Arrangements for the implementation of the internal audit programme.
Planning of own workload including audit preparation and research time.
The core of the job is to provide internal audits to provide assurance for senior management in relation to the application of the quality management system and organisational expectations. The recommendations made will flow from the post-holders’ personal expertise in the field of audit and quality management and their understanding of our internal policies and processes and external requirements, including, but not limited to, ISO 9001:2015
The successful candidate will be a qualified auditor, ideally from a training organisation.
Have in-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, and preferably Ofqual General Conditions of Recognition.
Effective audit planning, investigation, analysis and judgement – able to rapidly and accurately interrogate and make sense of varied evidence sources.
Detailed and accurate record keeping.
High standards of written business communication suitable for a senior management audience: concise report writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly questioning and listening
Able to plan workload effectively and adapt to changing requirements.
