Reporting into the Head of Business Architecture, you will be responsible for the identification, definition and specification of the company's business analysis requirements in support of strategic objectives. This will involve working collaboratively with outsourced application vendors to provide optimal solutions for the business.
This role has a heavy focus on data and reporting so the successful candidate will have a good understanding of the business and how reporting can help them achieve their potential .
Your duties as an insurance business data analyst will include but not be limited to the following:
·Work with the business to enhance the design and development of its management reporting capabilities.
·Proactively identify reporting requirements and suggest solutions based on Insurance industry knowledge.
·Identify all data requirements across the business to support financial, analytical and statistical modelling and to implement optimal reporting solutions.
·Support the Data Governance Forum with all aspects of its remit including data governance, analysis, reporting and analytics.
·Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation and maintain regular communication and coordination between all relevant users/departments.
·Ensure the integrity and accuracy of operational business data in collaboration with IT.
·Ensure all business and IT related solutions are clearly documented and robustly tested and released properly and efficiently.
·Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers and manage such in conjunction with IT.
The Successful Insurance Business Analyst
It is imperative that you have experience as a pure business analyst within the insurance industry for at least 3 years, and only candidates from this sector will be considered.
I am looking for someone with a good understanding of an insurance business and how reporting can help to achieve its potential .
Through being a business analyst within the insurance sector you must have:
·Helped companies to use data in a strategic way - automating reporting, using data to help with decision making processes, visualising data to help staff understand it more
·Analysed and interpreted data
·Coordination with and between departments to assess their data requirements; plan and assess possible projects to meet those needs
·Be educated to degree level
·Hold an industry recognised Insurance qualification or Business Analysis certification (these are desirable but not essential)
You must be a first class communicator with the ability to confidently interact with senior stakeholders, and third party suppliers.
