Your new role
My client is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Technician to support and administer the Thin-client/desktop/laptop estate, server, network and telephony infrastructure in our dealerships.
The role will be based primarily in Brighouse but the successful applicant will be expected to travel to other sites as necessary.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled with at least 3-5 years' Infrastructure support experience.
To provide Network Management (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and VLANS) and wireless infrastructure (Aerohive) in a multi-site environment.
This may also involve some cabling, installation and fault finding.
Firewall and security/patching management Provide hardware support (routers printers etc.)
To provide support to users across all sites within an organisation which utilises Microsoft Technologies (Active Directory, Exchange) and Citrix.
Support the effective management and monitoring of the physical and virtual server/desktop environment.
To support the running of an effective Citrix XenDesktop 7.x and XenApp 7 infrastructure including user management.
Experience Operating in a virtual desktop environment with virtualised applications.
To support users and services in an effective, resilient, secure thin and thick desktop client infrastructure.
To maintain secure user desktops running anti-virus and security products.
Provide effective IT technical support at all sites within the group.
This will require site visits as and when necessary.
To provide support and maintenance for IP telephony and mobile phones
Practical experience of WScript, CScript, VBS language, mSQL Ideal candidate will have experience of CDK Autoline Rev8 including report writing
Provide first time fixes and resolutions to incidents and requests where appropriate via telephone and face to face.
To monitor the progress of calls logged with manufacturer service desks, ensuring that all are resolved in accordance with original request.
To participate where required in IT projects.
Assist training other members of staff. To undertake other assignments in accordance with the priorities agreed by the IT Manager.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential to succeed in this role.
The ability to be flexible and work on your own initiative, as well as working as an individual or as part of a team Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
