They are currently looking for an experienced IT professional to join the team as an Infrastructure Technician. This role will support, administer and provide smooth running of the technical infrastructure so as to enable the organisation to achieve business objectives.
The main activities within this post are to ensure all IT and communications systems are correctly maintained and to act as 2nd line support and interface between the IT Service Desk and the Technical team. With this in mind, you must be a skilled negotiator with fluent and effective communication skills.
You’ll have experience in a similar role within a structured IT department. You must have hands on experience of working in an ITIL 2nd line infrastructure operations environment, along with competencies in the following;
- LAN infrastructure
- Servers, PCs and Thin Clients
- Desktop and laptop OS build and deployment
- Systems backup and DR
- Telephony systems
- System monitoring
- Operating Systems
- Active Directory
- Citrix Environment
- VMWare Environment
- MS Exchange email system
- MS Office applications
- Application upgrades/installation
- Server Updates & patching
- Virus protection
A strong understanding of Microsoft based network infrastructures along with comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies is essential.
