Position: Infrastructure Engineer 
Location: Reading, Berkshire 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Salary: up to £35k per annum 

About the role: 

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be versatile with varied skills in different, relatable aspects such as SQL Database Administration, virtualisation, automation and all things Cyber security. You will be applying your knowledge to meet the changing, growing and evolving systems within this highly successful organisation. You’ll be a crucial player in a small team of Infrastructure engineers supporting their global infrastructure ensuring in its smooth operation and keeping them up to date on best practices. You’ll take part in major projects working closely with your peers to consolidate their customer base into Azure, to advice and implement on cyber security prevention technologies and generally keep the ship sailing. 

Around you will be their Product and Delivery teams who know all there is to know about the world of operations management, and although you’ll come to know much of that yourself you’ll draw heavily on them. You’ll also build on a strong working relationship with Microsoft and you’ll make friends and earn the respect of their technical teams as you go. 

About you: 

What does a strong candidate look like? 
- Great analytical mindset 
- The ability to pick up new skills quickly 
- Perform high level troubleshooting activities. 
- Experience on Azure including IaaS and PaaS 
- Knowledge and experience of high availability architectures (SQL ClusteringAvailability Groups). 
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience 
- Firewall Management 
- Experience with IDS, SIEM and WAF tools (Alien Vault, LogRythm, Cloudflare etc.) 
- Strong Microsoft IIS experience 
- Office 365 administration 
- T-SQL experience 
- Ideally, you will have a degree level qualification, but this is not essential. Industry recognised qualifications, or the willingness to obtain them, would also be beneficial such as MCSE, MCSA etc..
