Infrastructure Engineer - 4 years Experience - Contract

An excellent opportunity for a Contract Infrastructure Engineer that has at least 4 year's experience - minimum.

Infrastructure Support

Your role is to maintain BAU whilst still keeping your skills up to date.
Day to day duties and responsibilities:-

Specific activities:

· Proactively handle support requests and resolutions via tickets and calls (ITIL awareness desirable)

· Daily support of our platforms running VMware

· Management & support of Windows and Linux infrastructure servers

· Support the backup and replication infrastructure

· Infrastructure and server patching

· Work to core hours of 09:00 to 17:30

· Be able to work outside core working hours if required

· Participate in the on-call in rota (if required)

· To work in accordance with the companies policies and procedures

Desired experience & skills:

· VMware exposure, have or working towards VCP certification

· Experience with enterprise servers and associated hardware (blade server technologies advantageous)

· Experience of Virtual environment backup systems (Veeam desirable)

· SAN administration experience (e.g. NetApp / EqualLogic / Tintri)

· Understanding of network and firewall principles

· Cisco Networking

· Windows and/or Linux Server system administration skills

· Familiarity with monitoring and patching

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Service provider experience

£105 / Day with a view to going Permanent for the right candidate - Based near Gatwick.
