Royal Mail is looking for an Information Security Risk Analyst.


Working within the Information Security Risk (ISR) team, this role supports both the team and other key stakeholders with the provision and analysis of insightful, consistent and quality information security data from our IT partners, third party suppliers and Business Units across the Royal Mail Group (RMG). In conjunction the role works to provide support and assurance to the Compliance Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and wider Royal Mail business through risk assessments.

About the role

The primary focus of this role will be the co-ordination and logistical management of the Information Security Risk team. This will include organising meetings/workshops and drafting presentations with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the RMG, whilst tracking and updating programme deliverables and identifying external events for ISR team training and network opportunities. You’ll champion information security risk best practices across the Business identifying areas where additional support is required.


Through providing support and active participation in risk assessments, including the delivery of high quality inputs/ outputs for the meetings, ensuring key attendance and the subsequent follow up on agreed actions and remediation, you’ll support the continuing embedding of the Information Security Risk Framework and processes including reviews to drive effective outcomes and capture lessons learnt.


Accountable for providing timely, consistent and fit for purpose reporting through the collation and analysis of risk assessment data from across the business and third party suppliers with inputs from the Information Security Risk Leads.


You’ll support the Information Security Risk Leads in the analysis and reporting of progress updates and information security risk status to the Compliance Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Security Leadership Team and Executive Boards.

About you

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will be of graduate calibre (or equivalent) and will be experienced within planning and organising, utilising your excellent skills to co-ordinate risk assessments, reporting, control and assurance activities.


Attention to detail is key, as is your track record of delivering high quality reports of accurately presented data in a meaningful and appropriate way. Drawing upon your excellent written and presentation skills you’ll possess strong communication and stakeholder engagement qualities, with the ability to influence and adapt approach as required at all levels.


Through solid understanding of how an information security organisation function, you’ll be able to analyse large amounts of information to deliver succinct, clear messages. You’ll be competent in Microsoft Office systems and SharePoint. Being able to manage your own time effectively and show judgement on prioritising tasks, working on activities concurrently when required and demonstrate flexibility to changing requirements, often at short notice will be key to your success in the role.
