Job Profile

The EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 ("GDPR") is one of the biggest changes in Data Protection regulatory history.

Complying with GDPR is one of Mazars key priorities to facilitate the provision of adequate assurance for both its clients and staff. A programme of work has been developed to enable our successful achievement of this objective. This role has been designed to support some key administrative tasks defined within the project plan.

In order to successfully undertake this role, strong communications skills, an ability to persuade and negotiate and good stakeholder management skills are required, along with an understanding of the basics of the GDPR and current Data Protection Act 1998. A desire to develop and gain skills / qualifications in this area would also be beneficial.

Job Role

Data collection and management

• Assist colleagues across the UK business to locate and collate contracts with third party suppliers
• Create internal centralised record of contracts to facilitate easier location based on a number of defined fields
• Identify whether or not those third party suppliers are processing personal data on behalf of Mazars
• Identify whether third party contracts contain relevant sections referencing GDPR and data protection (or similar)
• Support periodic audits of data protection and information security compliance within the firm
• Support internal data mapping exercises
• Support work to ensure good records management is maintained across the firm
Data Protection and Information Governance
• Support day-to-day administrative tasks within the GDPR project and wider Information Governance arena
• Guide colleagues in locating relevant information on GDPR, Information Security and Data Privacy to support their roles
• Support periodic audits of data protection and information security compliance within the UK firm

Communication and training

• Support and assist Mazars UK centre of expertise in connection with the responsibilities above
• Assist in maintaining effective relationships with the partnership and wider team, in addition to our internal auditors, regulators and other key stakeholders
• Support internal communications across service lines and internal support functions as appropriate, in connection with the responsibilities above
• Support the development and communication of clear guidance, procedures and policies in connection with the responsibilities above

Person Specification


• Experience of significant data collection exercises
• Evidenced knowledge and understanding of Data Protection and GDPR
• Knowledge / understanding of legal contracts
• Records management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills at all levels
• Strong persuasion skills
• An enthusiastic, positive and proactive mind-set
• A team player willing to support a team in achieving its goals and objectives
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to provide assistance and share experiences
• Knowledge and experience of using MS Office applications


• Relevant Information Governance / Data Protection / legal qualification
• Willingness to be involved in wider GDPR project
• Willingness to work towards relevant data protection qualifications
