Infection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse

Are you an Infection Prevention and control Lead or looking to step up to a lead role in this area? Our client is the largest private healthcare facility outside of London and a flagship site for the Hospital group. Specialising in complex private healthcare and surgical procedures they are looking to recruit an Infection prevention and control lead to head up their team.

The site based in Cheadle consists of seven theatres, two endoscopy suites, day care unit and a 12-bedded critical care unit. They obtained a Good rating by the care quality commission on their last inspection and 98.3% of its patients would recommend a friend or family member to the site.

Reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Services you will be responsible for ensuring Infection prevention and Control (IPC) is addressed in all areas of the hospital. Leading a team to deliver while taking responsibility for infection prevention across the site.

Day to day you will responsible for leading your team and be a core member of the Hospital IPC committee, you will ensure that all staff have effective training while overseeing a surveillance programme that you will analyse and report back to your line manager.
You will be an experienced IPC Nurse or lead, who has a proven track record of leadership and development of staff. You will have effective communication and interpersonal skills that will allow you to motivate staff of all disciplines to follow ICP guidelines and to understand how their role is critical to the safety of patients and the effectiveness of the site as a healthcare provider.

Essential Requirements:

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to manage difficult and complex situation
*Ability to report issues in challenging circumstances
*Previous experience working a IPC role
*Previous experience working in an Acute healthcare sector
*Registered General Nurse with NMC pin
*Teaching and Assessing qualification
*Risk assessment experience
