My client is a family run company formed over forty years ago. They are one of the leading commercial cleaning and facilities service providers in the UK, providing daily, industrial and window cleaning services to all sectors of industry. Washroom, hygiene and consumable supplies, waste management, pest control, plants and grounds maintenance ensure they deliver a complete solution to our clients. Their services are used by hundreds of companies throughout the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

I am looking for candidates who can co-ordinate the industrial and window cleaning work (offices/factories/education/distribution centres/retail etc), which entails sorting the operatives out on jobs and liaising with the clients, whilst also hiring in equipment where necessary. It an extremely fast paced department and we require someone who can think on their feet and can handle pressure, as the department can be very reactive ie floods/spillages etc. The Industrial employees work 40 hours over 7 days to meet the needs of the business and the window cleaning employees tend to work 6.00am to 2.00pm. The working hours for this role is 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday

I am especially interested with candidates who have the following experience of one-off/periodic:-

  • Experience of quoting jobs
  • Experience of strip and sealing
  • Experience of cleaning different floor types and environments i.e. jet washing/kitchen cleans/Sparkle cleans etc

Duties and Responsibilities

This is a role that requires a high level of responsibility and independence. Your primary remit will be to ensure all contract cleaning standards required by the client are achieved, delivered and maintained through direct reports, measured through training and inspections, adhering to each site specification and risk assessments along with: -

  • To ensure the efficient allocation of labour on a day to day basis and periodic work
  • To ensure that the cleaning specification is fully implemented and adhered to and to undertake site inspection checks when required
  • To ensure all customer queries and complaints are dealt with in a timely and effective manner and that the client is kept fully informed of what action has/ is being taken
  • To undertake regular client contact, build relationships and ensure satisfaction with the service delivery
  • To regularly review and appraise the performance of staff, providing coaching or training solutions as required
  • To ensure all Industrial and Window Cleaning operatives comply with Safe Working Practices as directed by Standard Operating Systems/Procedures Work, Method and Risk Assessment
  • To control and identify means of reducing costs on the contracts and implement cost effective solutions
  • To review the running of the contract to identify ways in which productivity can be improved whilst maintaining standards
  • To ensure that key business issues, concerns and amendments are promptly brought to the attention of your Line Manager
  • Advise/assist in the prep and review of Standard Operations Systems/ Procedures, Risk, Manual Handling and COSHH assessments
  • To complete health, safety and welfare audits
  • To undertake all administration associated with the management of people issues
  • To regularly review the costing/operation of contracts to ensure the most effective cleaning methods and manning levels are operated
  • Complete timesheets in line with the Company pay rolls.

Key Skills and Desirables

  • Self-motivated with an ability to deliver to tight deadlines, possess a positive can-do attitude and management experience within a service industry
  • Produce detailed and professional reports and spreadsheets
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislations industry rules and regulations
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrate a strong service orientation and awareness of the importance of delivering a high standard of customer service
  • ISOSH and NEBOSH certificate would be an advantage along with technical knowledge of cleaning methods

Salary £28k - £31k, company car, IPad or laptop, mobile 20 days’ holiday plus 8 Bank Holiday and pension
