Your new school
Hays Education are working in partnership with schools in East Sussex and are looking for Individual Needs Assistants to work in our top schools. You will be working in an excellent, welcoming and high achieving school.
Your new role
You will be working individually with a pupil, enabling them to overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO facilitating a high quality education. You will be responsible for ensuring that the pupil has understood instructions from the teacher, help manage any challenging behaviour, prepare any additional learning resources, accompany the pupil on educational visits, and most importantly provide consistent encouragement and praise for the pupil.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous, relevant experience of supporting children in a classroom setting. You will be highly organised and posses exceptional communication skills, including strong listening skills. You will be able to quickly build relationships with the pupil and modify any work that needs adjusting when necessary. You will be able to offer constructive feedback based on your observations and be a positive presence and role model in the classroom.
