Individual Giving Manager - MATERNITY COVER

Working alongside the Head of Individual Giving and Marketing you will be responsible for delivering campaigns including lottery, regular giving, Christmas direct mail and In Memory. You will build upon existing relationships and attract new supporters to grow our income in these areas. You will focus heavily on donor care, making sure donors are carefully stewarded towards further engagement. You will manage the Supporter Services Administrator to input data into the Raiser’s Edge database in order to maintain an efficient system for income processing. You will also be responsible for segmenting data in line with the marketing and individual giving strategies.

Responsibilities

Donor Care

  • To work alongside all IGM staff to ensure donors are developed effectively and mailings are co-ordinated to prevent duplication or conflicting activity
  • To stay abreast of developments in the fundraising world to ensure the donor care is optimised, and keeps in line with fundraising codes of practice
  • To understand data opt-outs /opt-ins and best practice in managing communications preferences in fundraising and marketing
  • Ensure all Fundraising database activity is compliant with GDPR and the Fundraising

Regulator

  • To ensure that Gift Aid forms are sought and returned in all appropriate instances to maximise gift aid income

Database Management

  • To manage all data segmentation in line with marketing strategies, and have excellent knowledge of queries and reporting within the Raiser’s Edge database (or equivalent)
  • To oversee all data entry, with the help of staff and volunteers, to ensure accuracy that is in line with all Hospice policies and conforms to data protection law in line with the GDPR
  • To undertake database "housekeeping" procedures such as cleaning and compacting, identifying and merging duplicate records, removing or archiving redundant data and similar tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy is maintained
  • To manage the integration of other data sources on to Raiser’s Edge; both importing from various data sources, and exporting data from Raiser’s Edge for all mailings.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • To undertake data segmentation and analysis to enhance effectiveness of all campaigns and to maximise cross selling potential
  • To set up and undertake monitoring and evaluation reporting for all campaigns
  • To train and assist the IGM team in utilising the database "Query and Report"

functions to produce useful and accurate analysis of information

  • To work with the Head of Marketing and Individual Giving to plan direct mail campaigns ensuring retention and development of 'warm’ donors and recruitment of new donors
  • To produce reports for IGM and Finance teams, Director of IGM and Chief Executive as required

Local Hospice Lottery

  • To lead on all strategic aspects of the Lottery to drive the growth of lottery membership
  • To monitor membership progress and trends
  • To resolve issues with the general public with regards to complaints / the legitimacy of our canvassers
  • To work with fundraising colleagues to maximise the opportunities for promoting the lottery and update the team on progress and developments
  • To ensure recruitment standards of canvassers are upheld

Volunteer/Staff Supervision and Training

  • To train staff and volunteers in the use of Raiser’s Edge, ensuring that training is updated regularly as appropriate
  • To manage, develop and supervise the Supporter Services Administrator in assisting with any of the above tasks, ensuring that their work is appropriate and providing guidance and support as required

General

  • To stay informed of technological developments both for Raiser’s Edge, supporter retention and development and for direct mail, email, telephone, face to face and online fundraising and to share these with IGM Managers as appropriate
  • To participate in regular fundraising meetings, reporting and liaising on on-going projects and inputting into projects of other team members
  • To be responsible for the weekly FPS reports and take appropriate action when necessary
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Conduct and Codes of Best Practice, the Fundraising Regulator and GDPR.

Experience

  • Experience in fundraising or customer care
  • Experience of database management including analysing data and preparing reports
  • Experience of designing and implementing effective systems and procedures
  • Experience of dealing with the general public by telephone and/or through written communications
  • Demonstrable experience of effective problem solving

Skills / Knowledge/ Abilities

  • Sound knowledge of at least one database and CRM package
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent understanding of technology used in customer and/or donor care
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to understand and analyse supporter/ customer databases to assist in the development of Direct Mail appeals
  • Ability to interpret numerical and statistical information
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of data protection legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance of donor care
