Salary: Up to £70,000 basic (depending on experience) + 30% bonus on initial fees

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) to join our established team based near St Albans. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to take on part of a retiring adviser’s client bank, representing approximately £30 million in AUM.

We are ideally looking for a currently practising adviser with 3–5 years of experience, confident in delivering holistic financial planning to a loyal, long-standing client base. While Chartered status is advantageous, it’s not essential—what matters most is your professionalism, integrity, and ability to build trusted relationships.

The Opportunity

  • Immediate client handover: Inherit a well-established client base from a retiring adviser, with ongoing introductions and support to ensure a smooth transition.
  • AUM: Circa £30 million, across clients typically holding £100k+, averaging around £300k per client.
  • Client profile: Predominantly homeowners aged 45+, including business owners, professionals, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Typical advice areas:
  • 50% Pensions
  • 30% Investments
  • 20% Broader financial planning (e.g. protection, tax-efficient strategies, estate planning)

A full adviser portfolio within the firm equates to around 200 clients, ensuring quality, long-term relationships and sustainable service levels.

What We Offer

  • Competitive basic salary: Up to £70,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Bonus structure:30% of initial fees submitted, with no validation threshold
  • Established client base: Inherit and grow relationships with clients from a retiring adviser
  • Growth potential: Opportunities to expand your portfolio further through future acquisitions
  • Comprehensive support: Full paraplanning, administration, and compliance assistance to help you focus on client service
  • Professional environment: A collaborative and stable firm with a strong regional presence and supportive culture

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a currently active adviser, with 3–5 years of client-facing experience
  • Have strong technical knowledge across pensions and investments
  • Are motivated by long-term relationship management rather than short-term sales
  • Hold Level 4 Diploma (minimum) — Chartered or close to it preferred but not required
  • Want to join a respected firm that values quality advice, integrity, and client trust

If you’re ready to take the next step in your advisory career and build on a ready-made client base within a professional and supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
