A rare and highly attractive opportunity for an in-house employment solicitor to join the team based in Leicester on a fixed term basis of up to 12 months for Maternity cover. As a team we support our clients across the business providing high quality commercially focused advice. This role is based at our People Team office in Enderby, Leicester.
The role works with the HR and operational teams on advice, training and also employment tribunal litigation. The successful individual will be afforded the support and development opportunity to assist on complex and challenging employment matters, with the autonomy to run your own ACAS Early Conciliation and tribunal case load. The team handles the whole remit of employment issues including TUPE, discrimination, complex disciplinary and grievance matters, training of operational teams, providing legal updates to the business as well as employment tribunal cases. Working closely with the senior solicitor and head of department there is plenty of skill to develop your own skills and talent within the employment field. There is also the opportunity, if desired, to develop advocacy skills.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills particularly with accurate drafting skills, with the ability to communicate with people of all levels and an excellent training record within some of these practice areas. You will be proactive and independent with a good working knowledge of MS Office, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands.
This is a great opportunity for any employment lawyer who is looking for an in house opportunity with excellent development prospects. The role would suit a 2-3 year PQE solicitor or legal executive; but applicants with any PQE will be considered, subject to demonstrable experience in employment law.
