Leading NVOCC European Operator seeks an experienced Import Clerk

A small friendly busy team based close to Liverpool Street station.


General Forwarding Import Sea Freight, experience with an existing forwarder in this business is crucial.

To handle client's business FCL/LCL groupage/trailers, agree rates with contractors, able to work accurately and tidy fashion.

Full English written and spoken is required.

Knowledge of Sea Freight and working with a NVOCC or forwarder within our field is a major advantage.


Planning and arrangement of international consignments according to client instructions and requirements

Receiving of pre-advices and shipping documentation

Work under own initiative to deadlines.

Follow up of purchase orders/shipments

Communication with overseas offices/partners

Arrange deliveries and bookings

Follow up late runners.


Short sea and forwarding experience Min 2 years

Excellent communication skills, via phone or email.

Be commercially astute.

Have an understanding of costs and profit.

Be confident, with good communication skills.

Able to work under own initiative, be polite and respectful to everyone, a team player.

Seeking someone with an energetic approach and 'can-do' attitude to work within commuting distance of our office

Core working hours are 9-530pm with one hour lunch.

20 days holiday plus normal bank holidays.
