An exciting opportunity has arisen with West Suffolk Councils to become an ICT Technical Development Officer within our Information Communications and Technology teams across both councils. You will join us on a full time, temporary contract for up to 2 years and will be offered a completive salary of £30,785 - £36,379 per annum depending on qualifications/experience (potentially rising to £36,379 through annual Performance Review awards)!
Here in West Suffolk we have embarked upon an ambitious programme of ICT development and migration projects to enable greater efficiencies through shared services. Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury are currently going through the process of becoming a Single Council, West Suffolk. This technical role will help to support ICT Business as usual alongside any additional work streams identified through the Single Council Project. West Suffolk continue to encourage service area access strategies aimed at enabling and promoting channel shift, with greater emphasis on process automation and self-service.
The ICT Technical Development Officer role:
This is a varied and challenging role and we are looking for a strong team player who can make an immediate impact, with excellent customer facing skills and a desire to be part of an ambitious forward thinking team. This is a temporary post for a period of up to 2 years.
The post holder will be required to work at both councils’ premises at West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds, and the Forest Heath District Council Offices, Mildenhall.
Our ideal ICT Technical Development Officer:
We are looking for a technical officer who can demonstrate solid experience of implementing and supporting a range of ICT products using a variety of ICT skills. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with the ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly. Experience of database administration, systems integration and data cleansing/matching techniques is highly desirable, as is knowledge of Microsoft’s Windows Server products including SQL Database Server. Training will be provided where required.
