Job Status: Contract

Job Profile: The role of the hydraulic systems team is to develop and validate electro-hydraulic systems for Back Hoe Loaders and Compact Wheel Loaders, as part of the new product introduction programmes. As the team is based at the production facility, there is also an expectation that it supports production and as the technical experts on hydraulic systems, the team also engages in the exploration of emerging technologies for mobile hydraulic systems.

Qualifications/
Experience: Extensive knowledge of Mobile Hydraulic Systems - Load Sensing Control and Pressure compensation
Knowledge of pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, accumulators and hoses
Knowledge of hydrostatic drive systems
Professional and Flexible
Excellent communication
Experience of off highway machine operation
Data capture capabilities
Data analysis capabilities
Experience of NPI projects
Experience of APQP processes

Job Description: Working with team colleagues based in the UK and other sites across the globe, the hydraulic systems engineer helps to select components based on function, cost, quality and efficiency.

The hydraulic systems engineer will then work with cross functional teams to procure the components and support the build of test bed machines. The hydraulic systems engineer will then carry out performance testing of the complete hydraulic system. Performance and efficiency reports will then be assembled using data that has been collected and filtered in order to extract the relevant details regarding machine performance.
The hydraulic systems engineer will then make recommendations on how to develop the system for the next phase of machine development.

The PD phase of the programme includes deeper analysis of the system and component performance. Interactions between the different components need to be assessed and reported on via pressure histograms and pressure and flow profile reports. Performance issues and components faults are reported via a design collaboration system and the hydraulic systems engineer is expected to investigate and resolve these issues, providing detailed information about the issue and the interim or permanent corrective action.

The hydraulic systems engineer is also expected to make a large contribution to multi generation product planning meetings. These are meetings where the next generation of machines are planned and the insight and vision of experienced engineers is of great value.

Salary/Rate: Up to £32 per hour (Ltd Co / Umbrella Co).
