Hydraulic Service Engineer

A new opportunity for an experienced hydraulic service engineer is available to join my client who are a leading international hydraulic system and component manufacturer. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of Electro-Hydraulic Systems and components, with the ability to read and interpret circuit flow and pressure drawings.

Hydraulic Service Engineer role:

Working in this role as a hydraulic service engineer you will be responsible for carrying out service and repair activities in Power generation, Aerospace and Steel making industries, experience within these sectors is a major advantage. Typical work includes commissioning, troubleshooting / diagnostics, service, repair, retrofits, upgrades, and customer training on complex electro hydraulic machinery. Work includes working on site and in-house to suit business needs. Contributing to project review and other related meetings. Ability to work well within a team and on own initiative. Completing field reports, timesheets and expense forms accurately in a timely manner. Company specific Training will be provided.

Hydraulic Service Engineer requirement:

Educated to ONC / HNC level, recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship, relevant electro/hydraulic qualifications (BTEC level 3 minimum preferred).
Detailed knowledge of hydraulic systems and components essential
Experience of site working, permit to work experience.
Demonstrable ability to interpret electro/hydraulic system drawings and mechanical engineering drawings.
Trouble shooting hydraulic/electro/mechanical installations.
Ability to test drive and control systems up to PLC I/O.
Use of industry standard hydraulic, mechanical and electrical test equipment.
Hydraulic Systems Control and associated components including proportional valves, piston pumps, prefill valves and high-pressure manifolds.
Strip down, assessment, reporting, assembly and testing of electro hydraulic/mechanical components.
Writing site/job specific risk assessments and method statements
Full Clean Driving Licence - Must have a willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas to suit business requirements.
