Hybrid IT Pre-Sales Consultant (HIT Consultant)

£40,000 to £50,000 + up to 20% performance bonus


Role overview

The HIT Consultant focuses on engaging with customers and architecting both Data Centre and Workspace Hybrid IT solutions predominantly utilising Office 365 and MS Azure. Working directly with the sales team the HIT Consultant will support the entire sales engagement process working with commercial mid-market and government framework customers. The solution focus will be based on core IT infrastructure services such as workspace, compute, storage and networking with the ability to discuss future strategic direction and business requirements.

The HIT Consultant will be responsible for demonstrating domain expertise in the required areas, identifying key stakeholders and building technical engagement with the customer. Solution specification for customer proposals as well as production of relevant content is also a key part of the role.

This will also be a rapidly evolving role where the HIT Consultant will be continually trained and supported in expanding the capabilities of the company in delivering market leading services and solutions.

Required capabilities

Solution & project knowledge:

 Office 365, EM+S

 Azure: Compute, DB, Networking, Storage, Web + Mobile

 DC on-premises infrastructure: Server, Networking, Storage, Virtualisation

 Understanding of project management methodologies

 Understanding of DC and Workspace migration, modernisation and transformation

Support for sales people in engaging, qualifying and defining solutions with customers:

 Establishing business needs and required outcomes

 Credibly match the service catalogue to customer needs and outcomes

 Identify and engage with relevant customer stakeholders in sales process

 Provide early credibility of value and capability through experience and customer stories (case studies/success stories)

 Define services approach based on structured methodologies for solutions

 Accurately estimate consulting services effort in delivery of solutions

Discussion leader with domain knowledge expertise who can:

 Confidently present to both business and technical audiences

 Structure and lead customer workshops

 Consult with customers demonstrating depth of understanding and knowledge in required solution areas

Content creators who can:

 Create solution content for proposals

 Author content for collateral and web presence

 Author content for social presence demonstrating knowledge/thought leadership

Innovative technologist who can:

 Identify incremental opportunity within existing customers that delivers quantifiable business value

 Identify gaps in the market and create innovative solutions utilising available resources

 Understand and exploit market trends to ensure the service catalogue stays current, differentiated and compelling

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years pre-sales or technical delivery experience in relevant solution areas
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology or science related subject
  • Azure Solution Architect technical training to intermediate or advanced (commenced is acceptable with commitment to complete within an agreed timescale)
