Purpose of Role

We are seeking a HV Construction Manager for the Midland Main Line Electrification Project, the successful candidate will be responsible for confirming that the discipline design and /or construction complies with all applicable standards, legislation, Contract requirements and specifications. Ensuring that all HV Construction work are carried out to the correct standards, and that all works are carried out safely and efficiently.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of construction works on substation sites and HV cable routes, inclusive of MOS sites, CAIS Modular Buildings, installation of Auto-Transformers and isolating transformers.

  • Responsible for the controls and management scope of civil works, earthing and electrical installation related activities, in doing so managing a team electricians, HV cable pulling and jointing teams.

  • Resource planning and Plant management duties across several HV sites

  • Site documentation duties including preparation and approving of construction ITP’s, WPP’s, Task Briefs POWRA’s and file management.

  • Deputies’ for Project Manager as Lead on Multiple areas requiring to manage a small team of electrical staff working in substation environment.

  • Installation management and coordination of test and commissioning with the test and commissioning manager.

  • Direct and co-ordinate daily operations for delegated area of delivery

  • Progress tracking and reporting against plan (daily/weekly/monthly) through coordination with the site manager.

  • Input into and execute installation methodologies and strategies for programme delivery

  • Administer and develop cost profile for all activities required to deliver the HV element of MMLE

  • Collation of redline drawings and test records in conjunction with site managers and Commissioning teams.
