Humanities Cover Teachers

Posted 15 January by Teaching Personnel Ltd

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for secondary school cover teachers in North and East Cornwall across all specialisms!

We work in partnership with several schools in these areas and due to increased demand, we urgently need more teachers who would like to work on a cover basis.

Cover teachers are required to cover lessons when the main teacher is absent, this can be at short notice or pre-planned absence and can be varied in subject. Due to the nature of the work, we would be really pleased to hear from teachers who are flexible and positive in their approach and who can be on stand by for short notice work in these locations.

Cover teachers are not expected to plan work or lessons, you will deliver work that has been set by the main class teacher, it will be your job to deliver the work, manage the classroom and behaviour and ensure the children stay on task to complete the work.

These roles would be suitable for experienced teachers who would like to explore other schools and inject some variety into their role without the responsibility for the planning and assessments, or for newly qualified teachers who would like to gain more experience before committing to a permanent classroom.

Many of our supply teachers go on to secure long term and permanent roles from doing day to day supply, so if this is your long term aim, then supply could be an ideal opportunity for you!

If you would like to apply, please send your CV as soon as possible!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
