Geography Academic Mentor Person Specification
The school want to meet an enthusiastic Humanities graduate who has already held a school-based position and a degree at a 2:2 or better. The school want to recruit a graduate who has the skills to clarify complex subject matter whilst sharing their love and passion for education. This vacancy is open to those who have a wonderfully motivational attitude and those who express their desire to become a teacher.

Humanities Academic Mentor Role
As a Humanities Academic Mentor, you will be working primarily within the popular Humanities department, you will participate and lead smaller group work and 1:1 sessions. The Humanities Academic Mentor will be expected to ensure the smooth running of the classroom, making sure resources are available and ready for use and helping class teachers devise engaging lessons. In general, you will be taking note of the approaches other teachers take and developing your own unique style of teaching through with the help and guidance from a talented Teacher/ Mentor. You will gain a full understanding of the challenges and rewards of being a teacher through taking on multiple duties in this flexible, constantly changing post. This position involves working with a CPD and training scheme that is especially designed to give Teaching Assistants the best start to their careers in education.
