The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a People & Culture Advisor to join our existing team reporting into the Head of People.

The People & Culture Advisor will provide an HR Advisory service to both colleagues and managers, ensuring that a first-class HR service is provided along with high quality solutions that foster positive employee relations.

The role will support with the Talent Acquisition of new colleagues into the business through the enhancement of existing direct sourcing methods. You will also support the Head of People in looking at innovative ways to attract and retain colleagues.

The role is very much a hands on generalist role which will cover all elements of HR including engagement, payroll support, administration, HRIS, Health & Well-Being and L&D.

You will have the opportunity to lead on allocated projects that will add value to the business and help to continue to drive the People function forward, including being part of the team working towards the Best Companies Award.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is looking for their next HR opportunity and is at least working towards or completed their Level 5 CIPD or has equivalent experience or degree educated having studied HRM as their main discipline and completed a 12 month placement as part of the programme. You must have a full generalist background and willing to have a go at all areas to develop you as a HR professional. Ideally having operated in a retail / logistics environment with approx. 250-300 employees. You need to have a good knowledge of employment legislation and practices. You need to be a self-starter, positive, tenacious, able to work at pace and not afraid to challenge and push back. We are looking for a Team Player who is able to step in and support other team members when needed. You must also be flexible to working hours to support with recruitment events. Excellent IT skills are required along with previous knowledge of using HRIS.
