HSE Manager - Part Time (3 days per week) - Pharmaceutical
My client is a well-established pharmaceutical company based in Manchester. As part of their expansion, they are looking to hire a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager who will be responsible for the Health and Safety services within the company. In this new and exciting opportunity, you will be site based as well as visiting clients for and on behalf of the organisation creating and managing safe systems of work.
To be considered, you will hold a Diploma level qualification in Health & Safety and preferably an Environmental qualification. A minimum of 3 years' experience within a highly regulated industry (preferably pharmaceuticals) and a health, safety and environmental role is desirable.
HSE Manager Responsibilities and Duties:
*Assist with the implementation of site HS&E policies. Develop and take an active role in Audits of site / site to monitor / ensure compliance.
*Ensure that HS&E protection programmes are established and that there is compliance with legislation, reporting to management any deficiencies. Ensure that the Company is informed of new legislative initiatives in HS&E.
*Work with company management to foster the development of sound HS&E management systems as an integral element of company management. Develop performance measures.
*Highlight HS&E training needs of all employees to management and become involved in the development and delivery of programmes.
*Provide safety engineering, fire prevention, industrial hygiene, loss control and environmental reviews on major capital projects.
*Provide loss control/risk management interface with insurers and assist in the development of acceptable emergency / crisis plans.
*Take an active role in Group HS&E Meetings.
*Monitor existing Health, Safety & Environmental practices and recommend to management improvements where necessary.
*Deliver the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health 'Managing Safely' programme to group and site management supervisors.
Experience and Qualifications required:
*Diploma level qualification in Health & Safety.
*An environmental qualification is desirable (but not essential).
*A minimum of 3 years' experience within a highly regulated industry
*A minimum of 5 years' experience within a Health, Safety & Environmental role.
Salary: £28-32k + company benefits
