Great opportunity to join a manufacturing client as HS & E Coordinator. Based in Ellesmere Port you will be responsible for maintaining, reviewing and continually improving the company’s HS & E systems. Policies and procedures. You will ensure the safety of all employees, customers, suppliers, contractors and visitors to site.

This is a very 'hands on’ role and the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to drive safety culture
  • Ability to influence and communicate, encourage and persuade
  • Good understanding of GEMBA walks

Key duties:

  • Working with senior management, keeping them up to date with current legislation ensuring site wide HSE compliance
  • Assisting the plant to perform more efficiently, promoting environment improvements
  • Providing or sourcing training and development of employees
  • Proactively promoting and positive safety culture, building awareness among the workforce
  • Carrying out regular safety audits and risk assessments ensuring statutory requirements are upheld - COSHH, RIDDOR
  • Maintaining accident statistics and reporting, analysing trends and proposing remedial action
  • Investigating all accidents and near misses

Key experience and skills required:

  • Strong track records of implementing continuous improvement techniques
  • Ability to devise and deliver H&S training courses
  • Hands on experience within a manufacture based H&S role
  • Experience of audits and risk assessments essential
  • Good IT skills
  • Confident communicator with a commitment to own continued personal development
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Determined, analytical and calm under pressure

Hours of work: 40 per week

Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
