An opportunity has arisen for a HR Services Assistant to join our HR/L&D Administration Team at the Shared Service Centre in Caerphilly. You will be expected to work to a very high standard with existing processes and procedures but continually seek more efficient ways of working and suggest improvements to current practices. You will be responsible for the full end to end employee life cycle administration processes.

What being an HR Services Assistant at DS Smith will involve…

  • Processing & reviewing documentation pertaining to new hires, payroll, pensions & benefits
  • Receive, verify and enter individual data/documentation on HRIS to generate appropriate records and payroll adjustments
  • Updating HR and other systems ensuring accuracy and compliance with Data Protection
  • Leavers administration - process relevant paperwork and input on HRIS
  • Providing first-line assistance to employees on general HR/L&D administrative matters
  • Support with the Learning & Development administration
  • Ad hoc project and duties as required by line manager

What we would like our candidate to have…

  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification
  • Impeccable attention to detail, at all times and experience of processing high volumes
  • Exceptional time management and organisation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with Managers and Employees at all levels
  • Previous experience of HR systems such as Workday
  • Ability to problem solve and manage information from different sources and customers
  • A strong team-work ethic
  • Experience of working to SLA’s and achieving deadlines
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements such as Data Protection
  • Experience of working with workflow solutions/case management systems would be desirable
