Hours: 40hrs per week – Monday - Friday

JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose and summary of job:
To lead on the recruitment, on-boarding and induction of new staff and primarily be responsible for the day to day HR administration across the site. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure that best practice is followed in regards to recruitment procedures within a school & care home; critically managing documentation to protect children and young people from harm.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Provide a consistent and professional HR services and advice to the senior leadership team;
Deliver a HR service that enables managers to understand their responsibility for all aspects of people management issues;
Lead on recruitment for CSWP and where required liaise with central support,
Work collaboratively as a member of the Administrative Team to ensure an integrated approach to the development and delivery of HR services;
Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization;
Lead the school’s On Boarding of new staff including ensuring that all relevant checks and contracts are accounted for;
Facilitate DBS renewals to ensure all staff are compliant;
Work closely with Finance & personnel Administrator on matters relating to payroll;
Provide reports when requested by senior leaders liaising with middle managers and fellow administrators, such as turnover, stability and sickness & absence;
Support the recruitment process as required. This may involve leading local initiatives and will include liaison with the recruitment team and willingness to be involved in the selection process;
Process new starter health declarations and liaise with central HR regarding Occupational Health referrals;
Update all HR systems within responsibilities including new starters, leavers, and changes of details, i.e. job role, new address;
Respond in a timely fashion to external reference requests with a standard reply.
Ensure that confidentiality is preserved when working with all sensitive information;
Supply ID badges for new starters and replacement requests;
Support the principal and SLT with all general administrative functions such as meeting bookings, taking minutes at formal meetings, note taking, and letter writing;
Responsible for posting adverts and managing the initial screening process of candidates to ensure relevant short lists of candidates are processed;
To provide a weekly update to the principal and SLT on current vacancies and pipeline;
To support all managers in the implementation of the sickness and absence policy and managing periods of absence;
To be pro-active in improving processes and ensuring legal compliance;
Ensure sick records are kept accurately, save certificates to the employee files and pass to Payroll;
Advise on minor disciplinary/grievance issues and refer formal disciplinary/grievance issues to the HR partner;
Provide admin support for disciplinary and grievances by producing meeting documentation packs, standard letters, arranging formal meetings and taking and producing minutes within the required timescales;

Gaining a thorough understanding of the specific recruitment processes in an education setting in line with Cambian’s recruitment policy and procedure that meets Ofsted requirements.
Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
