HR, Public affairs and policy recruitment

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate who wants to train to become a highly skilled recruiter within the HR, Policy and Public affairs sector. The role is based in Reading town centre and is working with a modern and well established recruitment agency. The company will provide excellent training and management for a graduate who joins the business and is starting from scratch. You will learn a number skills which will help you to fulfil this role, such as : Resourcing, industry researching, business development, qualifying candidates, CV stripping, marketing and advertising, general admin and database skills, business negotiation, career management and growth of a business.

For this role it is essential that you have a minimum of a 2:2 classified degree in any discipline; any subject relating to HR, Public affairs and Policies would be a bonus but not essential. No experience is needed. You must have a positive and straight forward attitude and be extremely resilient. You must also have the patience to learn, have and reach goals and targets set for you. In order to be successful within this industry it is essential that you are optimistic and understand that until you have learnt the role properly you will probably earn around £25,000. Your OTE (on targets earnings) will be around £30,000 providing you have put the effort into learning and putting some of your own time into understanding the industry outside of working hours.

A role within recruitment is not something many graduates anticipate doing when they leave university, however, if you work for a good company who will ensure you have the correct facilities to learn and who will invest their time in you , it can be an extremely rewarding career, both financially and developmental. Recruitment consists of a number of transferable skills which you can use later on in your career. This can be a continuity of recruitment for example you could go on to manage or progress along the career ladder within recruitment or you can look at alternative roles such as marketing, HR, any administration role, business and sales roles.

The basic salary for this role is £18-20,000 PA with an expected OTE (so to take a total of around) £30,000 in your first year.
