The opportunity has arisen for an HR Officer to join a business in Dorking, Surrey. The function of this role is to support the HR Director in delivering effective HR solutions across a generalist spread of HR practices including recruitment, selection, learning & development, performance management, employee engagement and absence management.

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Advise managers in effective handling of HR issues including disciplinary and grievance, recruitment and all aspects of employment law
• Manage disciplinary and grievance meetings to ensure they are carried out correctly
• Develop training/workshops for managers to improve their understanding of employment law and minimise the risk of issues arising
• Monitor sickness and absence, and support managers with handling short and long term absence issues
• Update policies and procedure, advise HR team of employment law changes and ensure employee handbook is updated
• Maintenance of the flexible benefits platform, liaise with the provider to ensure all information is current when necessary ensuring payroll are informed.
• Lead HR Projects identified in the People Strategy to drive continuous improvement in the HR function on behalf of the overall organisation operations
• Develop talent management/succession plans for the organisation
• Carry out other duties as reasonably requested

Key requirements:
• Level 5 CIPD qualified – looking to pursue full CIPD qualification
• Previous experience of working as an HR Administrator/HR Officer
• Experience of working within a fast-paced environment and managing your workload effectively
• Demonstrable knowledge of UK employment law
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• IT literate (MS Office, especially Excel)
