HR Officer - Interim

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an HR Officer to join a US law firm to cover a period of maternity leave, from December 2017 for up to 12 months. In this broad-based role, the HR Officer will provide support to all employees within London. Key responsibilities for the HR Officer will include:

  • Administering the London payroll in conjunction with the US, including benefits related payments and deductions
  • Managing benefits administration and liaising with providers/brokers
  • Acting as the go-to person for payroll and benefits queries
  • Managing all support staff recruitment , including relationships with agencies
  • Coordinating new joiner inductions
  • Completing the annual evaluation process for the secretarial team
  • Assisting the HR Manager with employee relations issues and the annual SRA practicing certificate renewal process
  • Working on a range of HR projects

The ideal candidate for this HR Officer contract role will have solid generalist HR experience gained within a law firm or professional services environment, and will ideally be CIPD qualified or working towards it. Experience of payroll and benefits administration is essential, along with good basic employment law knowledge. You will be a self-starter, with excellent time management and organisational skills, and be a strong team player. You must be able to maintain confidentiality and discretion, and have a flexible, hands-on approach.
