HR Manager

Our Milton Keynes based client is looking to recruit a HR Manager to join the team on a temporary basis for a minimum 3 months to cover long term sickness.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the direct management of a team of 15 people (BP's, Advisors, ER and Payroll) and a wider network of over 5000 employees. 

The role will include:-
 Business Partnering: Working with Operations to provide proactive leadership on people issues impacting optimal execution of the business strategy and ensure business performance.
 Line Management and Leadership: Leadership and development of high performing teams.
 Implementing business portfolio changes: Lead the required HR due diligence in cases of divestments, acquisitions and structural changes.
 Resourcing and Recruitment: Facilitate a resourcing plan ensuring the plan is executed to attract, select and place the best talent (internal and external) and is achieved within the convenience resourcing budget. Ensure an effective on boarding process is in place.
 Talent Management: Drive a consistent approach to talent management and succession planning across the business which delivers clear actions around training and development, performance management and career planning.
 Reward and Recognition: Implement and coordinate the reward cycle for staff and management. Develop and execute a market competitive reward strategy to drive business performance. Manage the payroll system and processes to ensure compliance to legislation and Company policy.
 Learning and Development: Provide tools and processes to support the development of staff and management in HR policies e.g. disciplinary & grievance, recruitment, employment law, equal opportunities.
 Diversity and Inclusion: Strategies and tactics for diagnosing and changing the workforce representation, driving inclusive behaviours and enhancing fair and transparent people practices.
 Individual Performance Management: Champion the embedding of a performance led culture across the business. Leading the annual appraisal process to ensure performance differentiation and identification of under performance.
 Labour Relations: Establish and support the Employee Forum to build effective employee involvement processes which facilitate the reconciliation of different interested parties.
 Policy and Compliance: Formulate and manage the execution of HR policies and handbook for employees ensuring compliance with legislation.
 Systems and Data Management of the Payroll System, including data management processes, upgrades and maintenance as required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:-
 A deep generalist HR experience in a Retail environment with a track record of delivery
 Strong employee relations experience
 Experience of volume recruitment strategies and talent pipelines
 A strong line management and team leadership skills, evidence of motivating and leading high calibre HR teams.
 Being a self starter who is emotionally resilient
 Being a primarily business connector and team player
