Our client INEOS Enterprises operates a portfolio of businesses on a number of global manufacturing sites with a turnover in excess of £2.5bn and employing over 2,500 employees they truly are a global player. The businesses are standalone and, as a result, the culture and policies vary depending on the location of the site and the heritage of the business. Each business is run by a Business Manager, General Manager or COO, who report to an Executive Committee.

Working for INEOS Compounds as the HR Manager based in Newton Aycliffe, you will have full accountability for the delivery of the HR Service Framework and People Plan, to enable the business leaders to achieve their business unit objectives, through effective management and development of people. The compounds business employs over 300 employees at two sites, one at Newton Aycliffe and one in Spain.

Main responsibilities will be;

  • To act as the single point of accountability for the delivery of comprehensive HR solutions, as prescribed in the HR Service Framework and People Plan, to line management clients on a local basis and enable them to achieve their business unit objectives through effective management and development of people

  • Represent the HR function and execute the HR agenda within local business management teams, actively contributing at strategic and operational levels to organisation and people decisions impacting business plans and performance

  • To act in line with the theme of "One HR" i.e. acts as a senior HR professional who supports the goals of the overall HR team in INEOS Enterprises by raising the bar on team leadership, team-work and professional development. Proactively manage the HR team’s budget, resource and workload priorities against SMART objectives to meet high standards of professionalism, team work and client service

  • To provide comprehensive and effective support to the review, upgrade and development of the senior population and support the implementation of Performance Management (SMART objectives, Performance Review).

  • Initiate the Reward (pay/promotion review, recognition, bonus, benefits, insurances and job evaluation processes), ensuring alignment with business/individual results and quality, time and budget requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with supporting CIPD qualifications

  • A sound understanding of a fast-paced multi-site, unionised environment which has undergone substantial restructuring and likely to have a combination of the following;

At least one assignment in an HR Front line position (if more than one assignment, these should be in different business areas)

At least one assignment in an HR specialist role (e.g. Reward, Recruitment, Employee Relations)

  • Fully developed HR competencies especially in Permanent Employee & Contractor Resourcing, Reward, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Leadership Development and Change Management

  • Proven track record of HR project management delivery within a complex organisation

  • Results-driven, resilient and candid, with an innate sense of what will work and what will not. Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally

  • Must be highly credible with the focus, determination and resilience to deliver high quality HR to a demanding client base
