HR Manager (UK) & Talent Acquisition Specialist (French Speaking Africa)

Job Purpose:

Reporting into both the HR Director and the Talent Acquisition Manager, this role dual focused role is responsible for leading the UK HR practices and objectives as well as acting as the talent acquisition lead for our French speaking African business units.

This position is based in London, Knightsbridge and will include occasional overseas travel to our French speaking African regions.

Key Accountabilities:

Provide HR Leadership at Business Unit Level

  • Communicate the BU Strategy and translate to action according to set polices
  • Coach management on HR processes and best practice
  • Drive the implementation of People Standards at Business Unit

Facilitate Organisational Design

  • Perform frontline workforce demand and budget forecasting and report to central HR
  • Document Job Descriptions and update job descriptions on the system as per the policy
  • Facilitate up to date grading of all roles

Manage Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

  • Implement the localised Group Recruitment and Talent Acquisition policies
  • Manage hiring process in liaison with Talent Acquisition Manager
  • Facilitate the creation of talent pipeline
  • Liaise with the compensation and benefits team for benchmarking
  • Source, screen and assess candidates on SAP
  • Assign and analyse technical and psychometric assessments required for the role
  • Prepare interview guides and conduct competency-based interviews with line management
  • Manage the offer process

On-board and Off-board Employees

  • Implement the localised group policy on On-boarding
  • Co-ordinate the on-boarding process
  • Facilitate the Welcome Programme
  • Conduct probation review of new employees
  • Conduct exit interviews and collect assets
  • Keep the Employee Handbook updated

Facilitate Capability Development

  • Create and Publish annual Training Plan for technical (hard) and behavioural (soft) training
  • Participate in HR Capability building programme
  • Source, coordinate and measure suitable training solutions
  • Monitor and control the training budget specific for BUs based on the needs

Drive Employee Engagement

  • Implement the localised group policy on Employee Engagement
  • Participate in region specific wellness initarives
  • Coordinate group specific engagement surveys

Facilitate Performance Management Processes

  • Implement the localised group policy on Performance Management
  • Monitor Performance Management cycle adherence
  • Facilitate the training sessions/ system updates to employees
  • Train line managers on how to provide employees with robust feedback on how to improve performance
  • Facilitate annual talent review for all identified employees/ levels
  • Implement the decisions related to consequence management (low and high performers)
  • Manage discipline and grievances at the BU related to performance
  • Document the required details/ anomalies/ cycle updates and report to stakeholders

Facilitate Reward Process

  • Implement the localised group policy on rewards
  • Educate line management on the reward philosophy/ policy
  • Coordinate inputs for the annual remuneration review (including salaries, benefits and pension)
  • Analyse, provide insight and recommendations considering regional factors
  • Facilitate internal promotion processes

Compliance Adherence

  • Localise the group HR policies in accordance with local legislation
  • Educate line management on the group policies
  • Communicate all key messages to all levels of employees
  • Quality control all documents related to HR
  • Provide inputs for internal and external audits, submit all requirements
  • Implement corrective actions on all audit findings

Manage the Employee Service responsibilities

  • Monitor and control HR related expenditures against approved budget
  • Administer benefits programmes such as Insurance, pension plans, leave benefits and employee assistance as per the local legislation
  • Manage the HR transactions and processes, employee services, grievance, resignation and ensures delivery of service in a timely manner
  • Provide first line advice on policy and SOPs to employees and managers

Qualifications, Knowledge & Technical Competencies:


  • Strong track record of success in a HR Management role
  • Experience in a Talent Acquisition role
  • Expert knowledge of UK Labour legislation and GDPR
  • Fluent in French
