What does the role entail?
As the HR Manager (replacing the current outsourced consultancy model) working in a standalone position you will be involved in all areas of HR covering the full recruitment process from creation of job adverts, to screening and interviewing candidates, right through to onboarding, as well as training and developing throughout the employee lifecycle. You will take ownership of ER, although there are few issues you will advise on disciplinaries, grievances and performance management making sure the right processes are followed and assisting in the exit process when required. You will keep abreast of any changes in legislation or UK Law amending existing policies and procedures or creating new ones as needed. On top of these duties you will have ad hoc project work as well as day to day system updating and administrative responsibilities.
What skills will you have?
You will be an experienced HR Manager with a strong Generalist skillset who is happy to carry out the above duties and an ideal background would be retail or hospitality, however this is not essential but a good knowledge or ER is. You will be happy committing to 3 full days a week either Monday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Thursday to suit the company’s needs. You will be working in an office with 4-5 people so must be happy working in a close knit environment, easy to get on with and a great communicator. All in all you must be a solid all-rounder that can look after all aspects of HR including a full ER process from investigation to closure as and when needed.
