Job Role: Principal Consultant (SoW)

Base Location: The Peak, Victoria or flexible on other central London offices
Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 dependant on experience plus £4,000 inner London weighting (if applicable) plus excellent bonus earning potential with a minimum of around £50k OTE in your first year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Reporting to: Consulting and Solutions Director
Reed have been delivering consultancy projects for over 20 years. Our projects span from IT transformation to business process outsourcing and from marketing to social care, as we look to support our diverse portfolio of clients with their strategic objectives. We are looking for new consultants to work with our clients to understand their challenges and how our consultancy solutions could help.
The Principal Consultant role will work with new and existing clients to develop relationships that help grow our consultancy services. Reporting directly to our Consulting & Solutions Director and based in our central London Head Office, you will join our expert Project Management Office function and be the key connection between the client requirements and our consultant teams. As such you will need to be able to work well with clients in building relationships, be a self-starter with a drive to succeed and have a good understanding of consultancy projects and Statement of Work (SoW) style engagements. In addition, as this role is focused on our public sector clients, you should have a good knowledge of how public sector bodies (specifically Local Authorities and Central Government) are structured to enable you to seek our new and existing opportunities of where we can help our clients drive effective change.

- Generate new business leads for our consultancy/SoW business from the following channels:
- Development of new relationships with heads of business/service that may have requirements for outsourced projects
- Work with our account management teams and larger clients to understand where opportunities lie for consultancy engagements
- Engage with our senior contractor pool to gain market intelligence about upcoming project requirements and speak to them about joining our Consultancy+ marketplace
- Undertake an assessment questionnaire with all new business leads to understand and scope their requirements
- Translate their requirements in to a scoping document with clear aims and deliverables
- Work with sourcing teams to identify the right skills to deploy to project from within our consultancy talent bank
- Design the project team required to deliver the contract
