We are looking for a HR Assistant Advisor due to a review of the departments structure. Purpose of Post: 1. To support the team in the provision of professional and effective HR service, in accordance with policies and procedure, good practice and employment legislation. 2. To act as a point of contact for enquiries to the Strategic HR team, responding to initial enquiries, providing initial advice, and escalating queries as appropriate for more complex advice. Key Responsibilities: 1. Be a point of contact to provide an initial HR response to queries by telephone and email from managers, employees and external agencies, and signpost to the appropriate HR team member for more complex advice. 2. Manage the HR Team global email inboxes, answering and escalating queries as appropriate in line with the customer service level agreements in place. 3. Support with the co-ordination and organisation of medical appointments and Physio referrals for our sold service customers. 4. Liaise with Firstcare to update the absence monitoring system of any staff changes on behalf of our sold service customers. 5. Co-ordinate and organise learning and development events on behalf of our sold service customers. 6. Co-ordinate and organise learning and development events delivered by the Strategic HR team. 7. Co-ordinate and organise Job Evaluation Panels and maintain the filing system and associated trackers. 8. Produce regular reports and statistics as required on HR performance against agreed performance indicators. 9. Co-ordinate and organise Member appeals. 10. Update the HR pages on intranet, Schools Information Portal and the website. 11. Act as the first point of contact for Strategic HR related SAR requests and be responsible for ensuring that the team deadlines for responses are met. 12. Participate on project work with colleagues as required to identify opportunities for service improvements and contribute to the development and delivery of projects. 13. Provide support to employees on the redeployment register when required. 14. Co-ordinate archiving data and retrieval of data from archive storage on behalf of the Strategic HR team. 15. Raise and process invoices and purchase orders, in line with standing financial instructions, on behalf of the Strategic HR team, maintaining information for budget monitoring as required. 16. Organise and attend, take minutes and undertake follow up actions at regular meetings, including Trade Unions, working party and project team meetings. Provide support to ad hoc working groups including research, drafting of communications and inputting data. 17. Proactively engage with HRA’s to provide support for the management of lower level casework. 18. Undertake research into best practice, employment law and current developments in HR to assist the delivery of a professional service, and development of policies and strategies. 19. Carry out any other duties as required, commensurate with the grade of the post. 20. Effectively demonstrate the values, behaviours and attitudes required by the Department, setting and promoting service standards, performance management and consistency of service to customers. 21. Take part in the Managing individual Performance Scheme 22. Carry out duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the City Council’s Equality and Diversity policy. 23. Understand and comply with the environmental policies. 24. Comply with all Health & Safety policies and legislation in performance of the duties of the post. 25. Work with information technology and associated systems in accordance with policies & procedures. 26. Comply with standing orders, financial regulations and Departmental instructions. 27. Participate in the induction programme for new staff. 28. Participate in training new staff in operating procedures including IT systems.
