Your Role:

As a Human Resources Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality HR services across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the first point of contact for managers seeking guidance on employee relations matters such as disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, and performance issues - ensuring advice aligns with current policies and employment law.
• Managing temporary contracts by tracking end dates, facilitating smooth transitions or extensions, and securing necessary approvals.
• Supporting job evaluation processes by scoring roles, attending panels, drafting role profiles, and offering constructive feedback to recruiting managers.
• Producing insightful HR data reports by analysing key metrics like headcount, absence rates, and turnover trends - proposing solutions to drive improvements.
• Contributing to policy development by drafting clear guidance documents that reflect best practices and legislative requirements.
• Leading or supporting people-related projects aimed at improving HR processes or enhancing employee experiences.
• Collaborating with trade union representatives on employee relations cases to ensure timely resolutions aligned with organisational procedures.
• Participating in lessons-learned activities to continuously improve HR functions and outcomes.

This varied role will see you balancing multiple priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. You'll have the opportunity to work on complex casework involving sensitive employment issues while contributing to strategic initiatives that shape the organisation's future.

What You Bring:

To excel in this role, you'll bring substantial experience from professional HR environments where teamwork and inclusivity are valued. Key attributes include:

• Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases - including disciplinary hearings, grievance investigations, and absence management - with empathy, discretion, and sound judgement.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law legislation and its practical application within operational contexts.
• Proficiency in using electronic HR systems to generate actionable insights that inform decision-making.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities while consistently delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective communication across all levels - whether face-to-face or via digital platforms.
• A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) to stay updated on employment law changes and best practices.

Desirable qualifications include experience within unionised environments or public sector organisations, CIPD accreditation, or involvement in change programmes such as TUPE processes.
