They are looking for a proactive and reactive HR Advisor who can provide day to day operational HR support. In this role you will develop strong relationship with managers and employees by providing advice and assistance, so they have a full understanding of processes, policies and procedures.
Job role: HR Advisor
Hours: 35 a week, 5 days a week (two 8am starts)
As a HR Advisor you will…
Draft rotas (night, weekend, day and branches) - communicate out to staff / branches
Manage / authorise leave, time off/ sickness / CPD attendance and training
Maintain awareness of the impact of employment legislation changes and ensure up to date legal compliance in all HR activities
Provide timely, professional HR advice on HR policies, procedures and terms & conditions of employment
Case work / employee relations – manage investigations / advise on cases & support managers
Attend hearings and meetings to offer advice and take notes when required. Draft outcome and formal letters
Sickness absence management
Manage the appraisal process, including quality assurance, coaching, training and conducting some appraisals with line managers
Own the processes of recruitment, selection and retention of employees, including the management of the induction process and train line managers to conduct as necessary
Exit interviews with employees, giving feedback to the Leadership and Support teams
Maintain employee personnel files and records, ensuring they are retained as per legal and Group requirements Manage flexible working requests
Manage the family friendly, absence management and long-term absences processes
Liaise with the Payroll department to ensure pay, benefits and any changes to contract are processed accurately and timely
Promote the employee benefit options and process requests as necessary
Monitor sickness and holiday to ensure the process is being followed correctly and logged accurately
Ensure return to work meetings are held after sickness/absences from work and actions are logged and completed
Organise and Chair the Staff Forum to ensure consultation with employee representatives
Support the Health and Safety of employees, including identifying, reporting and dealing with Health and Safety matters as necessary
Encouraging and developing staff engagement, through the various communication channels, staff meetings and team events
Previous Human Resources experience required, including guiding and support managers in HR / employment rights issues
Sound working knowledge of UK employment law essential
CIPD qualified at either Level 3 or 5 in Human Resource Management
A team player with exceptional communication skills and proven experience of building collaborative working relationships
PC literate (Word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
Flexibility and ability to work within a team that provides 24 hours, 7 day a week service
