The role of the HR Advisor is to provide HR advice and guidance along with supporting with HR transactional activities in order to meet the growth plans of the business. In addition to support the HR Manager and Head of HR with wider business with policy development and ad-hoc projects as required.

Main Duties

  • Produce contracts of employment and offer packs
  • Undertake the HR induction of new employees and follow up induction reviews at six weeks
  • Ensure compliance and provide support across the business to probation reviews, performance management, appraisals, maternity & paternity leave, employee referencing and absence monitoring
  • Conduct exit interviews for all leavers and record results. Provide analysis to management teams as appropriate
  • Conduct return to work interviews and arrange any follow up appointments, advising line managers of any actions/follow-up appointments required and update employee medical records ensuring People HR is kept up to-date
  • Provide support on employee relations issues and changes in employment legislation issues
  • Support disciplinary, grievance and appeal meetings by taking minutes and offering advice to the management teams
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and internal procedures
  • Oversee and ensure the People HR database is maintained
  • Ensure all Company policies, procedures and forms are kept up to date to comply with legislation
  • Ensure the Company handbook is updated on a regular basis, in line with current legislation
  • Support the HR Coordinators with HR related administration for the Company including but not limited to starters and leavers, benefits, updating People HR and scanning & filing.
  • Contribute and produce HR communications on a monthly/quarterly basis and assist with increasing employee engagement
  • Work with the HR Manager and Head of HR on ad-hoc projects in line with business growth and development plans
  • Ensure confidentiality in the completion of tasks both inside and outside the office
  • Manage time effectively and meet the targets set for the role

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR Advisor looking for a role with variety in a growing organisation. A team player, they will thrive on working as part of a busy and focused team but will have the resourcefulness to work unsupervised whilst still delivering results.   • Significant experience in a fast paced HR Generalist role, ideally in a sales or regulated environment
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Experience of running employee meetings within the current legal framework
  • Confident and professional communicator with staff at all levels
  • Solid understanding of performance management and HR management
  • IT and internet literate - especially with MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Preferably CIPD part or fully qualified
