We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys being responsible for looking after dedicated sites / departments providing a comprehensive generalist HR service.

This is a full time, permanent position based in Wolverhampton and as this position will provide responsibility for specific sites in the UK it will involve travel on a regular basis. The role includes responsibility for:

  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employment / people matters including legislative / company policy related matters including absence, performance management, grievance, disciplinary, TUPE, etc
  • Take ownership of HR for allocated sites / departments within the business through regular structured contact with key stakeholders and site visits
  • Deliver HR training sessions to line managers including areas such as employment legislation, annual appraisal reviews, absence management
  • Coach and guide line managers in regard to employment / people matters
  • Attend grievance, investigation and disciplinary hearings advising all parties in line with current legislation and policy and ensuring momentum to allow for swift resolution
  • Manage the annual pay review process for your sites ensuring appropriate approvals are in place
  • Oversee the annual appraisal process for your sites monitoring to ensure they are completed in agreed timeframes; provide training to managers as needed as part of the roll out in 2018
  • Support with managing the annual appraisal & compensation process for Key Leaders
  • Feedback to Head of HR items from your sites that should be communicated across the business
  • Support line managers and employees during periods of change in particular relating to acquisitions and associated TUPE requirements
  • Review and update handbooks, policy & procedures as necessary
  • Play active role in new starter induction process
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure feedback is provided to business with recommendations for improvement
  • Complete project work - this could be a variety of areas including reward management, training, recruitment, appraisals, etc
  • Drive a culture of engagement and positive employee relations across the business
  • Provision of management statistics / KPI’s
  • Use internal HR system to ensure accurate records are kept and data provided to payroll
  • Any other duties as required to support the HR team

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be looking for an opportunity to secure a stable position within a successful industry and business. You will possess a minimum of 2 years experience working as a HR Advisor / Officer (or equivalent) with clear responsibility for advising managers / employees within a professional HR team.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in HR Advisor role (or equivalent), in particular with sound employee relations and case management experience
  • Strong practical knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • Degree educated or equivalent HR experience; CIPD qualified
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and great attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Confident with the ability to communicate and engage at all levels
  • A desire to thrive in a role that requires a positive, proactive and flexible attitude towards change
  • Advantage (but not essential) to have experience running training sessions
  • Experience of reward and policy work
  • Ability to travel to sites on a regular basis
