HR Administrator

Our client is looking for an experienced HR Administrator to join their team. Reporting into the HR Manager the role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Administrator looking to build upon and develop their skills. As well as clearly defined responsibilities across the HR spectrum the HR Manager is eager to give the successful candidate as much exposure as possible to a broad variety of HR project work. Duties will include:

  • Producing offer letters and contracts for new starters
  • Managing the leaver process, calculating any due holiday pay, sending appropriate correspondence and updating the HR system
  • Ensuring exit interviews take place and relevant data is logged
  • Updating the HR system with new employee information and staff changes as required
  • Setting up new starters on the HR systems
  • Acting as the first point of contact for a wide range of HR enquiries and providing advice on HR policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate attendance information for employees including absence, sickness and holiday
  • Following the AWOL process for an employee who has taken unauthorised absence
  • Preparing letters for probationary passes, extensions and any changes to employees Terms and Conditions
  • Liaising with departmental managers for reporting and processing of bonuses
  • Completing regular and ad hoc management information reporting
  • Carrying out reference checks, credit checks and DBS checks as required
  • Note taking during disciplinary and grievance meetings
  • Supporting the recruitment process by organising interviews
  • Assisting with maternity, paternity and adoption leave queries

Person Specification

  • Previous HR Administration experience
  • Ideally working towards an HR qualification although this is not essential
  • Strong IT skills
  • Able to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
