HR Administrator - Part-Time

Salary: £19-24K pro rata per annum Part time 20 hours per week

Reporting to: HR Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and eager-to-learn individual to kick start or further their career with an exciting opportunity within Human Resources. Based in Littlehampton, West Sussex, the role is permanent and part time.

Job purpose:

To provide comprehensive and confidential HR support to the HR Manager, building strong relationships with both the employees and the Management Team to ensure company and department objectives are met. Assisting with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and its administrative duties, learning and applying to HR procedures, policies and documents.

Principle Duties & Accountabilities for the HR Administrator:

The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager
  • Support the recruitment process, including scheduling and on occasion, participating in interviews, writing contracts, offer letters and preparing all associated documents
  • Contribute to the creation of Job descriptions and Personal specifications
  • Support the Human Resources and Health and Safety Managers in the administration of training and developing staff
  • Ensure employee files and HR systems are constantly maintained with updated information
  • Assist with updating documents, policies and procedures in line with changes of employment legislation
  • Coordinate HR assignments and take minutes
  • Assist the payroll department by providing relevant data (absences, new starters, leavers, changes in salary etc.)
  • Learn and work towards actively participating in advising line managers and other employees on rights, entitlements, employment law and the company's own employment policies and procedures
  • Ensure candidates have the right to work for the organisation
  • Keep appropriate records of performance reviews
  • Liaise and communicating with managers regarding outstanding paperwork
  • Assist with administration duties including absence management, disciplinary and grievance etc.
  • Being involved in ad hoc projects as required
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative role
  • Experience of working in a HR environment desirable but not essential as training will be given
  • Willing to undertake study in order to obtain qualifications
  • Competency in Microsoft Office essential
