An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established Housing Provider for a Housing Support Worker in North Staffordshire.

The position is for 6 - 9 months with the view for an extension, full time hours - Monday to Friday 09:00 am - 17:00 pm with some flexibility to work an odd day on the weekend preferably one in five weeks and possibly evening work where relevant.

The rate of pay is £9.00 per hour PAYE Plus Holiday Pay OR £11.45 per hour on Umbrella / Limited.

This is a fast paced service that delivers housing related support to customers across North Staffordshire.

Candidates must have experience of having worked in the supported living sector, supporting service users with various complex support needs ranging from alcohol/ drug addiction, homelessness and Family Support.

The successful candidate would be attending case conferences, meetings and working within the community.

Suitable candidate must have a Full UK Drivers License and access to a vehicle as travel will be required for which mileage will be paid.

As a Housing Support Worker you will need to enable clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to enjoy a range of food and support them to buy their food from various places including markets/ super markets or specialist shops.

You will need to work with clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to help them devise strategies to assist them with their budgeting and provide advice and guidance and sign post them to other relevant agencies if necessary.

Part of your role will be to support clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) with other life skills such as welfare benefits/ employment/ education/training/volunteering/apprenticeships where appropriate.

You will need to enable clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to make their own appointments with other professionals and to work with them to enable them to make their own choices about the support they require.
