We are now actively seeking a dynamic Housing Solicitor with Legal Aid Agency Supervisor status for a busy team located in North London. As part of a specialist team, the successful Solicitor will enjoy a broad and varied caseload incorporating private and publicly-funded housing matters for a broad client base. Matters will include: rent arrears; homelessness; possession proceedings under the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme; disrepairs; illegal evictions; emergency injunctions; judicial reviews and County Court litigation. The ideal Solicitor will therefore possess strong negotiation and advocacy skills as well as solid previous experience of public funding procedures.
Additionally in their capacity as a Supervisor, the successful Solicitor will be required to assist and supervise casework, ensuring all work is being carried out competently and performance manage their team through the use of one to ones and service planning. Applications are welcomed from a qualified Solicitors with solid experience gained within a well-regarded Housing department;
Legal Aid Agency Supervisor Status in Housing and experience of the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme will be essential;
Possess excellent technical skills to include a good working knowledge of LAA requirements and procedures;
Have a consistently strong academic record with a minimum of a 2:1 at degree level;
Demonstrate first class client care and communication skills across all levels;
Be able to manage a full and varied caseload with minimal supervision, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high levels of accuracy;
Provides a professional, efficient and personalised service.
