Housing Options Officer

Our client is looking for an experienced Housing Options Officer to work on a 37 hour per week contract role to start on the 18-09-17 until 08-12-17 with a likely extension.

Pay rate may be negotiated depending on experience.

Hours: 8:45 am to 5;15 pm, Monday to Friday

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To investigate and advise on determination of all homelessness applications made to the Client and to comply with duties under homelessness legislation.

To assist the Housing Options Team Leader in providing a comprehensive housing advice service to all Fenland residents on housing and related matters.

To achieve homelessness prevention for our clients where appropriate.

Experience:

Dealing with customers in difficult / stressful situations.

Monitoring and maintaining computer records.

Skills & Abilities:

Effective interpersonal skills to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a range of people e.g. homeless persons; landlords; doctors.

Effective interviewing skills.

Ability to deal sensitively with people who are in difficult or stressful situations.

Administration skills e.g. keeping accurate, confidential records and compiling clear and concise reports on homeless cases.

Able to act on own initiative and be committed to working in a team environment and providing support for team members.

Effective I.C.T. skills - e.g. windows, excel and e-mail
