I am currently recruiting for a Housing Coordinator to work for a successful company based in Chingford. 

The purpose of the role is to carry out a range of comprehensive and practical housing management activities including Maintenance and closure, overseeing repairs and health and safety monitoring.

It is vital that you have previous experience of working as a coordinator within housing or similar position.

Duties within the role will include but are not limited to:

• Regular updating of internal databases for both client and property information
• Monitor/record and process estate inspections/zoning information as necessary
• Monitor and deal with outstanding call backs for the team as required
• Ordering and facilitation of new equipment, furniture, white goods, carpets/flooring
• Maintaining accurate records
• Facilitating and reporting day to day repairs
• Arranging tests of the gas and electrical system/items within the accommodation
• Arranging regular property inspections
• Facilitating tenant consultation, information and participation related to housing matters and housing management information
• Writing specification of repairs
• Obtaining estimates and quotes for repairs or maintenance
• Placing orders and monitoring works in progress and checking completed works
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance works
• Housing management policy formulation and input
• Assist with the continued development and growth of the company
• Work closely with all staff to ensure everyone is kept up to date with any progress and or issues at all times
• To assist with the arranging of emergency repairs outside of office hours to ensure the tenant is safe as well as ensuring the property is secure
• Any other duties which may be of relevance to the role requested by the Manager or Director

Qualifications and Skills (Desired but not essential)

• Good general education with ability to progress onto professional qualification in Housing
• Experience of providing intensive housing management to vulnerable people
• Minimum of two years’ experience or a good understanding of working with people and housing needs and/or Maintenance repairs
• Commitment to involving tenants in future developments
• Ability to contribute to the development and review of relevant policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Housing Law relevant to landlord and tenant
• Knowledge of the ‘Decent Homes Standards’ and the ‘Housing Health and safety Rating System’
• Computer literate Knowledge of CFP, Word, Outlook, Excel
• Awareness of housing management functions and issues e.g. allocations, repairs and maintenance, rent arrears, evictions, conflict resolutions, neighbourhood issues, shared housing
• Ability to write clear reports
