We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing and Care Services Manager for our new site in Bingley. This is a brand new building with state-of-the-art technology to enable Care Staff to deliver outstanding care to the residents.
You must have a minimum of 3 years experience working with older people and demonstrable experience of delivering care services.

Responsible to : Head of Operations and Compliance
The operational management of all aspects of service delivery and all staff employed connected to the delivery of the service. Ensuring effective services are provided in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations & required standards and other regulatory bodies and Quality initiatives.
Establish and maintain Abbeyfield as a leading provider of high quality housing and person-centred care and support for older people.
Promote independent living
Ensure an effective, individual and person centered care planning process is in place which enables people to participate in the planning and delivery of the service to meet their individual needs.
Ensure the service meets all relevant housing and care regulations (as inspected by the Care Quality Commission), and other relevant best practice guidance
Comply with Abbeyfield’s business, legal, performance and Core Standard in relation to quality services.
Support the Head of Operations and Compliance in providing services which seek to exceed but are compliant from 1st April 2015 with new CQC regulations (The Fundamental Standards) which set the standards below which care must not fall.
Provide leadership and build positive relationships with residents, relatives, staff, volunteers, external professionals and other stakeholders for the benefit of the service and to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Ensure services operate efficiently and cost effectively within agreed budgets.
Maximize occupancy commensurate with staffing levels at each service.
Develop and maintain a reputation for quality and value for money and through regular publicity, promotion and marketing strategies.
Provide leadership, supervision, appraisal and support to staff and volunteers to ensure that they are effectively, motivated, supported, well informed and managed.
A. Management qualification e.g. Registered Managers Award or NVQ 4 Leadership and Management. A Professional social care or health care qualification NVQ 4 Care, DIpSW, RGN and a Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with older people and demonstrable experience of delivering care services.
B. Quality monitoring or auditing experience in housing/health/social care/public sector setting. Performance management skills (setting targets,objectives, and standards and effective monitoring of results.)
C. Staff Management Skills.
D. Staff learning and development skills including identification of needs and devising strategies to meet them.
E. Budget Management.
F. Managing Health and Safety.
G. Detailed knowledge, experience, skills and abilities in relation to managing a regulated care service and ability to manage within a risk assessment framework.
H. Knowledge of current Safeguarding best practice.
I. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
J. Proven people management skills and ability to lead effectively by example.
A. Experience in a similar role within a health or social care setting.
B. A relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
C. Working in services for older people.
D. Evidence of continuing training and development.
