Opportunity has arisen within the Housing Department of a busy Local Authority for a Housing Advice Worker. The ongoing contract has an immediate start, and has an hourly rate of £14-£15 PAYE, with a 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday working week.

Description

As a Housing Advice Officer, candidates will:

  • Prevent Homelessness
  • Improve quality of lives
  • Make judgements about the council's obligations to households threatened with homelessness
  • Undertake joint review and assessment of vulnerable adults alongside adult social care services
  • To undertake joint review and assessment of vulnerable families alongside children's social care services
  • To investigate allegations of unlawful eviction and rent-book offences and similar offences

Profile

A successful Housing Advice Officer will have:

  • Have an enhanced DBS
  • Knowledge of a wide range of housing law matters including and tenant, security of tenure, deposits protection, rights and obligations of private tenants and landlords
  • Expert knowledge of housing advice and homeless prevention interventions
  • Expert knowledge of housing rights in relationship breakdown and domestic violence
  • Expert knowledge of housing related welfare benefits and tax credits
  • Strong understanding of case management techniques
